Our drift project is a little different to most, we chose a '73 Toyota Celica, a we virtually got it for nothing. We were also given a VN V6, which is why we went in that direction,so engine and trans mounts were manufactured. However a VT V6 now resides in the engine bay as this is a far better motor. Stronger valve springs were purchased to help prevent the valves being pushed open with the pressure from the twin T28 turbo's that will be installed. A Street King 600x300x76 intercooler will be fitted along with custom pipe work, and a 3" exhaust.
At the rear, an un-shortened Hilux diff is now in held in place with re-enforced arms, an adjustable panard bar and lowered springs.
The front is a bit more radical with Nissan S13 lower control arms and fully adjustable coil-overs, (These coil-overs will be available from us soon), R32 discs and brake calipers were bolted to the s14 stub axles. All of these fitted with very little mods, so don't be fooled into buying those expensive adapters to fit 5 stud rotors to your S13. The standard radius rods were retained as this was easier than fitting the Nissan items.
Some cheap 17" wheels were bought, shod with 235 x45's,but the front rims hit the caliper, a problem easily fixed with a pair of 8mm spacers, but now the studs need to be replaced with longer ones.
Once all the manufacturing is finished, the car will be stripped and painted a purple colour similar to Fords Phantom, but with a red purl in it, and the logo's of our sponsors applied (including our own of course).
Photos will be updated as things progress, so come back and see how things are going.
