Performance radiators are manufactured from high grade alloy and most are a dual
core design to maximize heat disbursement, cooling up to 30% better than your
standard plastic tank item. All our radiators are tig welded and polished ,
including the mounting brackets, drain plug holes, thermo fan brackets and
inlet/outlet. The filler neck is not pressed like some others, but a bullet proof
billet item that, where possible, is welded from the inside for better looks and
comes with a new cap fitted as standard. The mounting brackets are designed so
most of our radiators are a direct replacement, making it easy for a DIY
install.
Most people overlook the radiator, but if you've spent a lot of
time and money upgrading intercoolers, intake plenum, turbo's, added a boost
controller and increased the boost level and 3" exhaust, surely you would want
to protect that investment from overheating, remember more horsepower equals
more heat, and to get rid of that heat you will need to upgrade your radiator.
Another factor to consider is that original radiators in import cars are not
designed for Australia's harsh conditions, although they may be adequate in
standard form, start modifying your ride and you may start exceeding the built
in safety margins that the OE engineers put in. So upgrading your radiator not
only may save your investment, but will also look impressive when the bonnet is
lifted, no more hiding the radiator with painted or polished stainless sheet
metal.
